Wetlands was 1 of the hottest venues for underground music in New York Town. This former Chinese food warehouse just south of the Holland Tunnel hosted the most current up-and-coming artists in every single musical genre. But it was more than just a rock and roll joint – it was also the first “activist nightclub,” a spot as devoted to environmental and political issues as it was to partying and fantastic music. This entertaining and insightful documentary tracks the heritage of Wetlands, featuring interviews and concert footage with artists like Dave Matthews, Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band), Bob Weir (Grateful Lifeless), Phish, and Blues Traveler.
